The Glide Ratio (GR) is the ratio of Distance travelled to the Altitude drop (delta or change in Altitude). The Glide Ratio represents how many units will the aircraft glide for a unit of descent (when the units are the same). Note: here we use feet as the unit for the change in altitude, which is converted to NM (Nautical Miles) and vice-versa, as appropriate.
